THE WALK EXPERIENCE

What is UJA's Walk with Israel?

UJA’s Walk with Israel is organized by UJA Federation of Greater Toronto. It is the largest annual event in Jewish Toronto and one of the largest Israel solidarity walks in the world. First held in 1970, the Walk is an inspiring show of Jewish unity, pride, and support for our unbreakable bond with the land and people of Israel.

Where and when is this year's Walk?

The Walk will take place on Sunday, June 7, 2026. The exact location of the starting point, route, and finish will be announced closer to the time.

How can I get to the Walk?

We recommend taking public transportation or rideshare services (e.g., Uber) as parking will likely be limited around the Walk route.

Will there be shuttle buses?

Yes, there will be a limited number of shuttle buses. More information on that service will be available closer to the Walk date.

Do I have to join the Walk at the starting point?

We highly encourage everyone to join the Walk at the kick-off location. The crowds will be large, along with plenty of security, making it difficult to join in the middle of the route.

Is there a rain date?

No, the Walk takes place rain or shine. Please make sure to check the weather forecast and dress accordingly.

Is the Walk only for members of the Jewish community?

Absolutely not! We are pleased to welcome allies from various cultural and faith communities at the Walk each year.

Unfortunately not. For safety reasons, the City of Toronto does not allow bikes, rollerblades, or any wheeled device (aside from accessibility devices or strollers) along charity event routes.

No, pets are not allowed.

Can I bring my own signs?

Yes, as long as they are free from hateful or graphic imagery or language. This is a family-friendly event!

THE WALK FESTIVAL

What is the Walk Festival?

This is how we continue to show solidarity for the Israeli people! The Walk Festival features family-friendly activities, delicious food, exciting performances, and different ways to honour Israelis. For a list of what to expect, click here.

How do I become an exhibitor at the Walk Festival?

Once again, we are thrilled to have the shuk (marketplace). Click here to let us know you’re interested in showcasing your business.

What is the 19+ Social Lounge?

This tented area is available to those of drinking age and will have extended hours until 4:00 PM. If purchased in advance with adult registration, it includes admission to the lounge, a premium food item, and a drink.

Can I use cash at the Walk Festival?

Cash and credit cards will be taken onsite but not guaranteed at all places at the festival.

ACCESSIBILITY

Are the route and festival accessible for those with disabilities?

Both the route and festival are designed with accessibility in mind. This includes designated parking and shuttling options, washrooms, and more.

Once we have more details to share, they will be posted here. In the meantime, if you have any questions about the Walk’s accessibility features, please contact info@walkwithisrael.com

SECURITY

What is being done to ensure the safety of Toronto’s Jewish community?

We understand that the threat environment affecting Jewish communities in Canada can feel unsettling. We want to reassure you that community safety is a top priority, and robust security measures are actively in place.

There is no knowledge indicating a specific or imminent threat. At the same time, we continue to operate in a heightened risk environment that we have already been managing for some time.

Security efforts are ongoing and co-ordinated through the Jewish Security Network (JSN), which works closely with law enforcement and government partners, including Public Safety Canada.

We encourage everyone to remain aware, while continuing to participate in Jewish life with pride and confidence.

What happens if there is an emergency situation at the Walk?

UJA will communicate any emergency or safety instructions as quickly as possible to Walk participants via email and/or text message.

What security measures will be in place?

We have developed a detailed security plan in co-ordination with the JSN and Toronto police. Some safety measures will be visible and some will not be known to the public for operational reasons. In total, we will have a combined security presence of hundreds—encompassing police officers, private security personnel, and trained volunteers.

What do I do if I encounter anti-Israel protestors?

Walk proudly and ignore them. These “activists” have every interest in falsely portraying the pro-Israel movement as extreme—and one way to do so is to provoke us into on-camera confrontations. We must not be baited or intimidated. The Walk is about uniting our community, celebrating Israelis, and sending a powerful message to the world that we will always stand up for what we believe in.

Will action be taken against hateful protestors?

UJA works very closely with Toronto police and relies on them to enforce the law. They will be present in significant numbers and will create a buffer between protesters and Walk participants to ensure public safety.

REGISTRATION

Is there a registration fee for the Walk?

Can I cover the registration fee for someone who cannot afford it?

Yes! If you’d like to generously purchase a Walk package for a community member who cannot afford it, you will be able to do so when you register as an add-on.

I'm having trouble registering. Can I get some help?

Yes! We created a video with detailed instructions on how to register as an individual, start a team, or join an existing team. If you still have questions, please contact info@walkwithisrael.com.

DONATIONS

Is there an offline donation form I can download?

Yes, you can contact us at info@walkwithisrael.com for more information.

Every dollar raised goes directly to support the people of Israel through UJA’s programs and services. This includes our ongoing assistance for our three partner cities: Sderot, Bat Yam, and Eilat/Eilot. Learn more about the impact of donations here

Who sends out donation receipts for online and offline donations?

UJA issues donation receipts for all donations of $10 or more made to the Walk with Israel. Receipts are usually issued a few months after the event, so they can be expected starting in August 2026. If an eligible donation was made online, the tax receipt will be emailed. If an eligible donation was made offline and no email address was provided, a physical receipt will be mailed.

For more information on becoming a sponsor, please email our head of corporate partnerships, Lesley Cogan, at lcogan@ujafed.org.

Who can I contact with questions or concerns?

Your primary source of contact is our Walk team at info@walkwithisrael.com. If you need additional support, you may contact UJA’s donor services team at donorservices@ujafed.org.
